NOW HIRING: ADVOCACY & ENGAGEMENT FACILITATOR
Madison-based, half-time with benefits, to start September 5th.
The Wisconsin Council of Churches is looking for an engaging advocate/educator to equip religious communities for justice conversations relevant to their context. Includes interpreting social issues in light of Christian faith, and involving people from diverse backgrounds in public theology, advocacy, and public witness. Build
relationships through workshops, public speaking and coalitions. Take the lead in tracking, communicating, interpreting policy for our audience with practical action steps. Serve as the Council’s registered lobbyist, attend public hearings, testify & meet with policymakers as assigned, recruit/equip
members of our network to participate.

Well-prepared candidates will have at least a Bachelor’s degree in the social sciences, and experience with the state legislative process and/or community organizing. Religious training or experience is an asset. Position is based in downtown Madison and expected to travel within the state occasionally. Will interact regularly with partners and colleagues in person and using digital tools. Flexibility to work remotely on a semi-regular basis.
