Resistance on the Ground in Evanston

The next presenter in our Taking a Faithful Stand series will be Rev. Jason W. Coulter. Pastor Jason is one of many pastor-activists in Evanston, IL, and will speak to us about what resistance looks like there in this era. The meeting will take place on Tuesday, November 11th, beginning at 6:30 pm, via Zoom.

Rev. Coulter is the Senior Minister of the First Congregational Church of Evanston, UCC. Before entering the ministry, Pastor Jason worked for thirteen years in the labor movement, helping thousands of workers across the country organize unions in their workplaces. He is the Treasurer of Arise Chicago, a non-profit that organizes the collective power of working-class immigrants in partnership with faith communities to uplift all workers.

Pastor Jason is also a leader in the Evanston Interfaith Clergy and Leaders, which organizes the faith community to support issues of peace and justice. His congregation has been active in the movement for reparations for Black Americans and is the host of the Evanston Interfaith Family Pride Festival.
