Many have wondered how their Churches can aid those addressing the COVID-19 pandemic in India. Below are resources shared from our associate member The Interfaith Conference of Greater Milwaukee.
- Khalsa Aid – a Sikh humanitarian organization providing support for medical programs in vulnerable communities, including procuring hundreds of oxygen concentrators.
- Presbyterian Disaster Assistance (PDA) has approved a $20,000 grant for COVID-19 response in India. To make additional donations, click here.
- Lutheran Disaster Response has supported companion churches and partners throughout India and around the world as they raise awareness about COVID-19, provide personal protective equipment and distribute sanitation supplies to vulnerable communities.
- UMCOR (United Methodist Committee on Relief) will support Church’s Auxiliary for Social Action (CASA) to respond to the humanitarian consequences of the pandemic through information campaigns, hygiene support and unconditional cash transfers to help people meet their basic human needs. CASA is one of the largest faith-based humanitarian organizations in the country representing all Protestant denominations, including the Methodist Church in India.
