At the WCC, we often discuss the “big ball of yuck” and coach ourselves to focus on addressing one piece at a time. But how do you choose where to start responding to a chaotic world where crises seem like a daily occurrence? How does the Church respond?
Join the WCC staff and Milwaukee area colleagues to discuss chaplaining in an apocalypse and address the needs of our world through community care. We will offer frameworks and tools to equip your congregation to begin addressing the needs of those outside your doors in new ways (many of which are rooted in traditions the Church has practiced for thousands of years).
Along with a broad overview, we will also share a case study of how your congregation can apply the framework of community care by examining digital equity. Access to the internet is vital, and the church can be a resource to help increase access, affordability, and adoption while building community at the same time.
There will be time to connect with others in the area and explore how stronger networks can help us face the challenges we face. Join us at Wauwatosa Presbyterian Church (2366 North 80th Street, Wauwatosa) on May 21st from 1:00 PM to 3:30 PM (doors open at 12:30 PM).
