Celebrate 20 Years of Service — Honor Pastor Matt Sauer with a $20 Gift to the Wisconsin Council of Churches

For two decades, Rev. Matt Sauer has been a steady and courageous presence in Manitowoc and across Wisconsin. His ministry has always been rooted in the Gospel call to love God by loving our neighbors, especially those too often left behind.

Pastor Matt has worked to unify congregations across denominational lines, lift up the voices of rural communities, challenge Christian nationalism, and model public faith that promotes equity, compassion, and democracy. From organizing advocacy to speaking at events like the recent “No Kings Rally,” he brings moral clarity and prophetic hope to our shared life.

Pastor Matt has helped launch and sustain vital ministries that embody the love of Christ in practical ways.

He has been a founding presence in:

  • The Manitowoc Warming Shelter, providing safe refuge on the coldest nights

  • The FREE Community Dinners, offering meals and connection to anyone in need

  • The Neighborhood of Manitowoc County, a collaborative effort to build relationships, reduce isolation, and address poverty at its roots

The Wisconsin Council of Churches brings together 23 Christian traditions representing over 2,000 congregations across the state. Through public theology, disaster response, racial equity training, rural ministry support, and justice-focused advocacy, the Council equips faith communities to respond to the urgent needs of our time with courage and compassion. It is a leading voice for unity, justice, and faithful witness in public life. Pastor Matt has the pleasure of serving as vice-president of the Board of Directors for the Wisconsin Council of Churches.

In honor of Pastor Matt’s 20 years of service, we invite you to make a $20 gift to the Wisconsin Council of Churches. Your donation will support his ongoing leadership and the Council’s statewide mission to build a more just, connected, and compassionate Wisconsin.
