Wisconsin Primary Elections are August 11th
Campaign signs are popping up in neighborhoods across the state as we move towards the fall elections. This year we are facing an August primary and a November election that includes highly contested congressional elections, state offices that could shift the control of the state capitol - including electing a new governor, constitutional amendments, and other local issues.
Many are concerned about the state of our democracy and the impacts that these elections have in our deeply polarized state and country. This year, the Wisconsin Council of Churches has relaunched our Loving Your Neighbor in Election Season campaign to equip congregations with resources and ways to engage in the election process.
Resources will include:
Bulletin Inserts for August Primary and November General Elections
Resources to explain the 3 Constitutional Amendments on the November Ballot
Tools to help you pray for local election workers
Ways to Engage:
Volunteer as a Poll Chaplain or Poll Chaplain assistant - lay and clergy roles available (registration for November will be launched in August)
Join our Rapid Response Clergy Network (email us to join)
County-level organizing around election protection (aligned with the Faith in Us project goals)
We continue to engage with secular and faith-based election organizations across the state through regular meetings and collaboration. If you are interested in engaging more deeply in the work, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
