Like many American workers, U.S. clergy are exhausted, frustrated, and experiencing burn-out. According to a recent Barna research report, 4-in-10 pastors have considered quitting ministry since the pandemic. Political polarization, white supremacy, and cultish disinformation, not to mention the demands of online worship, budgets stretched thin, and increased community needs, have placed unprecedented burdens on pastors. Is rest and recovery possible? Or are there systemic issues within the church and society that demand a reorientation of the way we value the labor of clergy?

The Clergy Emergency League and the Wisconsin Council of Churches invite you to an important conversation about transforming clergy stress and burn-out so that we can cultivate resilience within and around these servant-leaders. Our expert panelists will explore the current realities of ministry that have led to this time of crisis and offer insights to mitigate stress and trauma while seeking renewal for the challenges ahead.

Moderated by:

The Rev. Dr. Leah D. Schade, Co-founder of the Clergy Emergency League
