Following a two-year process of faithful study, action, gathering insights from youth, activists and advocates, the Wisconsin Council of Churches Peace and Justice Commission has released a new Study-Action Guide, Who is My Neighbor: Multigenerational Conversations on Faith & Gun Violence.

The Faith & Gun Violence guide joins the Council’s other current guides:

  • Hunger at Our Doorstep
  • Becoming Welcoming Communities: Immigration Through the Lens of Biblical Faith
  • Loving Our Interfaith Neighbors
  • On Behalf of Our Children: Wisconsin’s Racial Disparities and the Call of the Gospel

The guide includes theological frameworks, guides for planning worship on the theme, guides for single-session and multi-session discussions, first-person reflections, a link to video testimony by youth participants in our Statewide Youth Summit on Faith & Gun Violence, resources for group facilitation, action steps, reflections on church security and safer church resources. A sampler can be downloaded here.
