Religious Advocacy Groups

The National Council of Churches, Justice and Advocacy Commission, maintains a website at: www.ncccusa.org/about/justicehome.html with extensive materials on eco-justice, women's justice issues, and peace and justice issues.

The Lutheran Office of Public Policy in Wisconsin website at: www.loppw.org contains helpful action alerts, advocacy issues and additional contact information.

The Wisconsin Catholic Conference website: www.wisconsincatholic.com contains bishop's statements, advocacy information and helpful contacts.

What Else Can I Do?

Familiarize yourself with issues, pray about them, and discuss them with friends and family.  Take issues to your congregation, attend public meetings, and write letters to the editor.  Consider taking a part in WCC program activities, joining the WCC Peace and Justice Committee or the Stewardship of Public Life Committee.

WCC Contact Information

If you have questions about the Council's position on a particular issue or want to participate in Council activities contact WCC's Coordinator for Public Policy, Dr. Peter Bakken, at (608) 837-3108 or bakken@wichurches.org.
